The annual summer concerts feature the best of Hungarian jazz and klezmer bands and have proved extremely popular in the capital over the last 16 years. The first of the zoo concerts will be on July 4, with the season due to run until August 22.

The concerts will be held every Wednesday evening at 8.30 p.m. The “Zoo in the Heart of Budapest” (as its slogan proclaims) opens for concert goers at 7 p.m., leaving time for a walk around the animal enclosures and a drink before the concerts. There is a rainy day policy, so in the case of bad weather the performance will be held on another date.

Tickets cost HUF 4,300 and are available at the zoo cashier (which closes one hour before the zoo’s official closing time of 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 7 p.m. Friday-Sunday), or online from jegymester.hu.

If all seats are sold, there will be a limited number of standing only tickets available at HUF 2,200 from the zoo cashier (District 14, Állatkerti krt. 6-12) from 7 p.m. on the evening of the concert.
