Summit of Central European bankers starts in Bucharest
The Summit of Central European bankers started here Thursday under the aegis of the Romanian Commercial Bank (BCR).
This is the first time that the event is organized in Romania, under the chairmanship of Romanian Commercial Bank executive president Nicolae Danila and of executive director of the Washington-based Institute of International Finance (IIF), Charles Dallara. The annual meeting of Central European Bank Executive Presidents brings together over 20 top bankers from 10 countries, central bank governors and vice-governors in the region, representatives of the capital market regulatory authorities, as well as reputed international analysts. They will discuss the current and future evolution of the banking industry and management issues in Central and Eastern Europe.
BCR, member of the Erste Bank Group, is the most important banking institution in Romania, managing assets worth over €14.6 billion ($19.5 billion). (people.com.cn)
