The financing of the activities of national carrier Malev will become impossible from the end of January, in spite of improving business performance, CEO Lorant Limburger told the airline’s board on Monday.

Malev said in a statement sent to MTI that an agreement had been reached with the US-based ILFC ensuring the use of leased aircraft necessary for the airline’s operation.

Chairman of the board Janos Berenyi asked Malev’s management to prepare a gauge of liquidity in the coming period to ensure the continued operation of the airline. The gauge must be completed by the end of the week.
