Kazakh, Hungarian presidents signed joint statement in Budapest

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Hungary László Sólyom have signed a joint statement today in Budapest, within the official visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev to this country, Kazinform correspondent reports.
According to the statement, the sides will contribute to maintenance and development of ethnic, cultural, language and confessional originality of the national communities, living on their territories. The sides will support national minorities of their countries. Presidents pay much attention to environmental protection and sustainable development of economies of the both countries. Kazakhstan and Hungary welcome adoption of the Strategy for a new partnership between the Central Asia and European Union.
Hungary supports Kazakhstan’s claim for the OSCE chairmanship in 2009. The sides are confident that such decision will contribute to development of the processes of democratic reforms in Kazakhstan as well as in the whole Central Asian region. Kazakh and Hungarian presidents noted importance of cooperation on bilateral and multilateral levels in struggle against international terrorism, organized crime, illegal drug traffic, as well as environmental protection and intellectual property. The sides welcome positive results of the negotiations on entry of Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organization. The Republic of Hungary expressed support to Kazakhstan’s entry to the WTO.
The sides expressed interest in mutually beneficial cooperation in the spheres of energy and admit importance of interaction in functioning of the “East-West” transport corridor, realization of joint transport and energy projects. The sides will encourage mutual investments by the representatives of the business circles of Kazakhstan and Hungary, creation of joint ventures, realization of the projects in industry and agriculture, conducting regularly the Days of economy in the two countries.
Heads of the states will encourage scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. Hungary is ready to join the projects, realized in Kazakhstan and directed to the development of innovation, new and information technologies. The sides noted necessity of the further development of cooperation in the spheres of culture, science, education, art and sport. (inform.kz)
