The investment forum will see discussions of Russia’s investment opportunities and large-scale investment projects in the country, including the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games. The issues of special economic zones, the setting up of gambling areas, and the possibilities of partnership between the government and private business will also be discussed. The investment forum will be opened by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
The forum’s roundtable discussions will focus on the development of Russia’s transport infrastructure, low-rise construction, the modernization of the communal and utility sector, investments in agriculture, insurance, and tourism. As part of the forum, the Russian-French commission for bilateral cooperation will hold its 13th session on September 20 with the participation of the Russian premier and his French counterpart, Francois Fillon, to discuss joint projects in aircraft-building, space, energy, transport infrastructure, agriculture, culture, and education.
Putin will also meet on Friday with his Belgian counterpart Yves Leterme to discuss the prospects of cooperation in nanotechnologies, space exploration, and the possibility of Belgian companies’ participation in the construction of sports facilities for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. (rian.ru)
