Hungarian government, NNG ink ‘strategic cooperation’
The Hungarian government and Hungarian-founded navigation software developer NNG yesterday signed a “strategic cooperation agreement”, under which the company will remain committed to continuing development in the country, according to a press statement issued by the Hungarian Promotion Investment Agency (HIPA).
The agreement is the 66th such the Hungarian government has signed, and the company that develops iGO navigation used by millions around the world is the first strategic partner the government recruited this year.
The company founded in 2004 has been expanding its workforce by approximately 20% every year since 2013. Currently the company employs a staff of approximately 900 in 12 offices and four representations around the world, including China, Japan, the United States and Australia.
NNG’s products are available in more than 190 countries, in 50 different languages. There are more than 20 million devices using iGO Navigation, and in the coming years, the software will be installed in more than 30 million vehicles of 30 global car brands.
Notwithstanding the global presence, the management of NNG remains firmly committed to keeping development and the companyʼs central activity in Hungary. The opening of its new development center last year in Szeged supports this commitment.
