Fellegi to lead IMF talks

Conferences

National Development Minister Tamas Fellegi will lead the Hungarian delegation at talks with the International Monetary Fund, government spokesman Andras Giro-Szasz said on Wednesday.

The delegation will include state secretary for financial affairs Gyula Pleschinger and chairman of Parliament’s Economy and IT Committee Antal Rogan.

The National Economy Ministry announced on November 17 that Hungary would seek financial assistance from the IMF as a precautionary measure. The request was made officially one day later by National Economy Minister Gyorgy Matolcsy.

Mr Matolcsy told MTI at the time that the talks could start before Christmas and wind up at the end of January or in February.
