Tight security measures at EU airports
The new rules include a 0.1-liter limit on the size of containers used to carry liquids such as drinks, baby food or toiletries aboard, with each passenger allowed at most one liter of liquids in total.
Effective as of today, increased security regulations including closer scrutiny of passengers and restrictions on carry-on luggage are likely to cause major delays at all EU airports including Budapest’s Ferihegy International Airport, as well as in the case of flights departing from Norway, Switzerland or Iceland.
The new rules include a 0.1-liter limit on the size of containers used to carry liquids such as drinks, baby food or toiletries aboard, with each passenger allowed at most one liter of liquids in total. Fluids must be packed separately in transparent and sealable plastic bags and handed over for inspection to security staff.
Electronic equipment, such as laptop computers, will be inspected more carefully than before, and passengers should be prepared to remove coats and shoes when passing through security gates. (Népszabadság)
