Strike forces cancellation of 18 Lufthansa flights in Budapest

City

Eight Lufthansa departures and ten arrivals were canceled in Budapest on Friday because of a strike by the German airline's cabin crew, Budapest Airport communications director Mihály Hardy told MTI.

The cancellations affect flights between Budapest and Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf, Hardy said. Flights between the Hungarian capital and Berlin and Hamburg are operating, he added.

Two flights are expected to leave for Frankfurt in the morning and the early afternoon on Friday, he said.

Budapest Airport has not received any further information on whether to expect a continuation of the strike on Saturday, he added.
