New cargo facility to be built at Ferihegy Airport by November
Airport operator Budapest Airport Rt, majority-owned by the British BAA Plc, has started planning the construction of a new cargo center at the capital's Ferihegy international airport, the operator said on Friday.
Building will start once amendments to regulations have been enacted and the new cargo center is expected to start operating in November 2007. Budapest Airport, which serves 50 airlines, has embarked on a new development strategy to attract new airlines to Ferihegy in cooperation with Hungarian travel agencies.
In other news, Budapest Airport also said that Stewart Wingate will officially take over Chris Woodruff's position as CEO from July 1. Wingate was a Customer Relations Director at the Glasgow airport and has worked as an appointed CEO with Woodruff since the privatisation of the Budapest airport operator last December.
