Mol Nyrt, Hungary's biggest oil company, will close about 20 fuel stations in Slovakia this year to save money and satisfy environmental regulations, a company spokeswoman said. “The aim is to improve efficiency and meet environmental regulations,” Kristina Felova, a spokeswoman at Slovnaft AS, Mol's Slovakian unit, said on Friday. “Slovnaft started to transform its network of filling stations four years ago.” Slovnaft will operate 200 fuel stations in Slovakia after the closures, she said. The Bratislava, Slovakia-based company has closed 30 gas stations so far this year. Mol is closing down outdated and unprofitable units abroad. The company is also reviewing its network of stations in Czech Republic, where it currently operates 30 units, Felova said. (Bloomberg)
