KVI shortlists three sites for new gov't quarter

City

The Treasury Asset Directorate (KVI) has selected three sites from among bids for the planned new government quarter, director general Sándor Zelles told reporters on Wednesday.

The possible sites KVI recommends for consideration are the area near the Déli railway station behind Buda Castle, the area near central Nyugati railway station on the Pest side and the Danube-bank strip south of Lágymányosi bridge also on the Pest side, Zelles said.
KVI invited a bid for a new government quarter after the government announced plans to sell its expensive central office buildings and relocate to a new area outside the city centre. KVI said earlier that 27 offers had been submitted to the bid.
