Hungary to have airport rail link by 2008

City

Hungary will build a rail link by mid-2008 to provide faster transportation between Budapest's international airport and the city center, boosting the value of the airport operator, which the government aims to sell within a week. "All bidders agreed with the government that building this rail link is essential," Economy and Transport Minister János Kóka said at a press conference in Budapest today. Hungary picked BAA Plc over two other bidders on Dec. 8 to start exclusive talks about buying 75% minus one vote in the operator of Budapest Ferihegy International Airport.
