Lufthansa's morning and afternoon flights between Budapest and Frankfurt were cancelled on Tuesday because of a strike at German airports.

The flights were the only ones cancelled by 9am on Tuesday, but Liszt Ferenc International Airport operator Budapest Airport asked travelers to check its homepage at www.bud.hu before leaving for the airport.

The strike by airport services union ver.di has affected airports in Berlin, Stuttgart, Koln-Bonn, Hannover, Dusseldorf and Munich, as well as Frankfurt.
