Celebi to start negotiations for services at Budapest Airport

Celebi Hava Servisleri AS, a Turkish company that offers ground services at airports, won a contract to run baggage handling at Budapest Airport. The shares rose. Istanbul-based Celebi was awarded the contract after bidding in an Aug. 7 tender and will now discuss details with Hungarian authorities, the company told the Istanbul Stock Exchange in a filing today. It did not say how much the transaction is worth. The Budapest airport handles 125,000 flights annually, compared with the 98,000 flights Celebi handled last year at several airports in Turkey, according to a research note from Ekpres Invest in Istanbul. Shares of Celebi rose 1.60 liras, or 6.3 %, to 27 liras as of 10:18 a.m. in Istanbul. Celebi was outbid earlier this month in an auction to build and operate an international terminal at Bodrum Airport in western Turkey. (Bloomberg, bud.hu)
