The International Skating Union Council on Thursday decided to provisionally allot the ISU European Figure Skating Championships to Budapest in 2024, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The championships would be held in the Hungarian capital on January 22-28, 2024.

Lajos Kósa, who heads the Hungarian National Skating Federation, said hosting the championships would be a "fantastic opportunity". He noted that Budapest had first hosted the contest in 1895 and last hosted it in 2014.
