Budapest Parking Fees Raised

City

New, higher parking fees are in effect in Budapest starting today, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

The Municipal Council of Budapest decided in June to introduce a unified public parking system with 4 zones in the capital from September 5, replacing the previous system of 17 different parking zones.

Parking in Zone A will cost HUF 600 per hour between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Parking in Zone B will cost HUF 450 per hour between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m..

In Zone C the parking fee will be HUF 300 per hour between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. In Zone D it will be HUF 200 per hour between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Parking fees in Budapest stood between HUF 175-525 per hour prior to the increase.

Parking times in Zones A, B, and C will be limited to three hours while there will be no time limit in Zone D.

The area where motorists will have to pay parking fees will expand by around 10% with the changes.
