City

In line with expectations, a total of three consortia have placed their bids on Hungary's Budapest Airport by the Monday deadline, Portfolio.hu reported. Two German groups and Britain's BAA are in race to acquire BA's 75%-minus-one-vote stake in the closed tender.
The State Privatization and Holding (ÁPV) Rt had invited five companies, out of which the following three submitted bids: BAA International Ltd (UK), Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Worldwide (Germany), and Hochtief Airport GmbH and Hochtief AirPort Capital (Germany). Australia's Macquarie Airports and Copenhagen Airports of Denmark decided to withdraw.
Bids in the first offer were between Ft 202 billion and Ft 390 billion (€1.56 billion).
