New tender to be called for Héviz-Balaton airport

Following a first unsuccessful bid, a new tender will be called this month to sell the assets of Héviz-Balaton airport, Hungarian daily Napi Gazdaság reports today. Located near the Balaton lake, the former soviet military base has been revamped and now hosts international low-cost and commercial flights. Czech airlines started to operate regular flights this summer.

A previous tender was won by Imre Linusz, a Hungarian businessman active in property transactions, whose HUF 800 bln offer beat the second bidder by Gábor Széles, owner of SGH aviation. However the tender was declared void after Linusz failed to meet the payment conditions, Napi Gazdaság says.

Széles declared no decision has been made yet on his company making another offer for Héviz-Balaton airport.
