Varga promises info on state of convergence plan update for Tuesday

The government will release information on the state of Hungary's convergence plan on Tuesday, economy minister Mihály Varga told a journalist during his visit to the state debt management agency ÁKK. Varga said he saw a good chance for lifting the excessive deficit procedure (EDF) against Hungary, citing his impressions at an informal Ecofin meeting in Dublin at the weekend. Hungary, which has been under EDF since it joined the European Union in 2004, has to submit an update of its convergence plan to Brussels by the end of April.
