Survey: 60% Hungarians make late mortgage payments

A representative survey from Deloitte and Scale Research revealed that approximately 60% of Hungarians with mortgages confessed to making at least one late payment on their loan, an increase of 44% as compared to a survey completed two years earlier.
The survey also showed that 62% of Hungarians with mortgages anticipated difficulties with repayments, a decrease from the 70% reported in the previous survey. Some 56% were afraid of becoming borrowers and almost two thirds of the Hungarian surveyed would take out loans as “a last resort”. About 47% of Hungarians thought the range of banking services and products were hard to navigate, down from the 55% of the previous survey.
