Report: Hungary receives 110,000 asylum requests in 2015

Hungary’s Office of Immigration and Nationality has received some 110,000 asylum requests since the beginning of this year, Zsuzsanna Végh, the head of the office said, according to a repot by the Associated Press yesterday.
Végh said that registered asylum seekers were directed to one of Hungaryʼs refugee centers - that now shelters double their capacity, some 4,500 refugees - to await the decision regarding their requests. She said that most leave the country before their cases are settled.
The number of families with young children among refugee groups is rising according to Babar Baloch, a spokesperson for the UNʼs refugee center in Central Europe.
The 175-km long fence being built by the government along the Hungarian-Serbian border to block the influx of migrants is expected to be completed by August 31.
