Rába receives Ft 2.6 bln order from Magyar Suzuki

History

Rába Nyrt, a Hungarian maker of vehicle parts and military trucks, won an order worth Ft 2.6 billion from Suzuki Motor Corp. to supply seat parts. Rába will produce seat covers for Magyar Suzuki Rt, the Japanese carmaker's local unit, valued at Ft 1.8 billion and will manufacture seat foams for an additional Ft 750 million, Rába said in a stock exchange statement today. Győr, western Hungary-based Rába, which supplies buyers including ArvinMeritor Inc., is focusing its sales efforts on Hungary, former Soviet Union states and other European countries after a decline in US demand led to losses in three of the past four years. With the new order Rába will widen the range of seats, seat covers and fillings it is producing for Sx4 and Ignis models. (Bloomberg, bet.hu)

SUPPORT THE BUDAPEST BUSINESS JOURNAL

Producing journalism that is worthy of the name is a costly business. For 27 years, the publishers, editors and reporters of the Budapest Business Journal have striven to bring you business news that works, information that you can trust, that is factual, accurate and presented without fear or favor.
Newspaper organizations across the globe have struggled to find a business model that allows them to continue to excel, without compromising their ability to perform. Most recently, some have experimented with the idea of involving their most important stakeholders, their readers.
We would like to offer that same opportunity to our readers. We would like to invite you to help us deliver the quality business journalism you require. Hit our Support the BBJ button and you can choose the how much and how often you send us your contributions.
