President to appoint new economy state secretary on Thursday

President Pál Schmitt will on Thursday appoint Gyula Pleschinger, former CEO of the Government Debt Management Agency (ÁKK), to serve as the new state secretary of the National Economy Ministry effective November 1, the President's Office told MTI on Wednesday.

Pleschinger replaces András Kármán, who will take over Hungary's deputy director post on the board of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) from December 1 and become a chairman from next May.

Schmitt will also appoint Anna Miksa and Péter Miskolczi-Bodnár as new members of the Competition Council of Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) for a period of six years starting on November 1.
