Police: 3,321 new asylum seekers enter yesterday
Police yesterday stopped 3,011 asylum seekers, including 611 children, entering Hungary near Röszke, which is close to the Serbian border, state news agency MTI reports. In all 3,321 asylum seekers were stopped by police yesterday, MTI said.

The entries near Röszke amounted to a one-day record for that area.
The majority of the asylum seekers arriving into the country yesterday claimed to be citizens of Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan, according to MTI. The police have reportedly initiated illegal entry proceedings against them.
Police said that 20 people arrested yesterday have been accused of people smuggling.
