More Hungarians ask for NAV to do their tax returns

History

Approximately 375,000 Hungarians have issued a request to National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) to prepare their tax returns, out of which approximately 3,000 were turned down as NAV has no obligation to prepare returns, NAV spokesperson Péter András Kis told Hungarian daily Magyar Nemzet today.

According to the spokesman, NAV prepared 317,000 tax returns in 2014, up from the previous year’s 290,000. National Economy Minister Mihály Varga said yesterday that the Hungarian government is looking into the possibility of mandating NAV with the task of preparing personal income tax returns.
