Ministry to call public procurement tenders for HUF 220 bln

The Hungarian government is scheduled to invite public procurement tenders valued at approximately HUF 220 bln for railway and road investment projects, the National Development Ministry announced yesterday, according to reports.

The ministry added that additional tenders, worth a similar amount, will be called in the period of November-February. The majority of these projects are expected to be completed by their previously set deadlines in 2018, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.

According to a report in Hungarian daily Népszabadság, the public procurement law could be modified soon, with changes taking effect on November 1.
