Hungary reaffirms commitment to long-term MOL ownership

The National Development Ministry on Friday reaffirmed the government's commitment as a long-term owner in Hungarian oil and gas group MOL.
The government acquired a 21.2% stake in MOL from Russian peer Surgutneftegas for €1.88 billion early in July.
The government made the purchase because of "long-term strategic thinking", the ministry said.
"The government continues to strive to increase national assets and strengthen the state's role as an owner in strategically significant companies from the point of view of the national economy," it said.
