Hungarian patients not good at exercising their rights
In the rankings of the Active Citizenship Network, Hungary is ranked next to last in terms of patients’ rights, Hvg.hu, the online edition of weekly HVG reported.
The most serious problem of the Hungarian system is that the patients’ right to information does not come through, the underlying survey, conducted by the European Union, showed.
The extremely long waiting lists for several operations as well as the shortcomings of the hospitals’ accessibility for disabled people or the lack of standardized prices that a patient has to pay for a copy of their final discharge also pushed Hungary to the bottom of the list.
