Hungarian, Croatian presidents discuss MOL, INA
Hungarian oil and gas company MOL and its Croatian unit INA were among the subjects discussed at talks between Hungarian President Pál Schmitt and his Croatian counterpart Ivo Josipovic at talks in Budapest on Thursday.
The two men discussed suspicion of corruption surrounding INA's privatization and the Croatian government's steps to limit foreign ownership in the company.
The Hungarian authorities are also ready to investigate the alleged corruption related to INA's privatization, as their Croatian counterparts are already doing, said Schmitt, answering a question by MTI. "This does not influence the friendly cooperation between the two countries," he added.
Both countries are cracking down on corruption "on the basis of the principal of zero tolerance", Schmitt said.
