Government expects suspended EU funding to be resumed soon

Approximately HUF 140 bln of suspended funding from the European Union could be resumed in a few weeks, deputy state secretary Nándor Csepreghy said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
The European Commission interrupted the equivalent of €451 mln in payments for Hungarian projects last September after an audit in May 2014 "revealed systemic weaknesses in the project selection system".
Payments were suspended on April 10, 2015, after the EC said Hungarian authorities failed to take corrective measures.
