Gov't considers reintroducing cross-border fuel limit

History

The Finance Ministry is examining the possibility of reintroducing a 200-liter cap on tax-free fuels brought into the country in commercial vehicles, Világgazdaság reported yesterday, without citing a source. The Federation of International Private Transporters (NiT Hungary) and the Hungarian Road Transport Association (MKFE) have attacked the plans, saying a cap would violate international road transport agreements and regulations. Reinstating the ceiling would further disadvantage Hungarian freight companies and would unnecessarily increase their costs, the Federation said. (Világgazdaság)
