European Commission has no comment on Hungary’s initiative
The European Commission is aware of the Hungarian government’s intention to request some kind of precautionary financial backing from the IMF and the Commission, but thinks it is too early to comment, because it has not yet been officially approached, a spokesman of economic commissioner Olli Rehn said on Friday in Brussels.
As soon as the official request arrives, the Commission will thoroughly analyse it, the spokesman, Amadeu Altafaj Tardio, said.
