EDF says ready to build second EPR in France

History

French power group EDF said it would be ready to take part in the construction of a second EPR nuclear plant in France if the government wished to go ahead with the project.

“If the government took the decision to build a second EPR... EDF would be ready to answer this call,” a spokeswoman for EDF said.

Les Echos reported that French President Nicolas Sarkozy would announce on Thursday the construction of a second EPR reactor in France but the president's office and the nuclear power group Areva (Reuters)
