Completion of first Ipoly bridge delayed by technical problem

History

The inauguration of the first Ipoly bridge, located between Pösténypuszta and Petov (N Hungary) had to be postponed to the end of September due to a technical problem, National Infrastructure Development (NIF) Zrt Communications Chief Daniel Loppert told MTI.

Loppert said all justified claims will be enforced against the contractor Porr Építési Kft.

Construction of the second Ipoly bridge, between Rárospuszta and Ráros, is progressing as scheduled.

The Hungarian-Slovak consortium won €7 million in EU funding for the construction of the two bridges. This covers 85% of the investment costs, with the remainder covered jointly by Hungary and Slovakia.
