Combo organic grocery/healthcare center/retail shop opens in Budapest
Organic- and health-food seller Bijó Élelmiszer Kereskedelmi has opened a combination warehouse-store, healthcare center and adjacent retail shop in Budapest built at a cost of HUF 1.5 billion, company commercial director Sándor Iványi informed national news service MTI on Friday.
Private investors from Switzerland and Hungary financed the cost of building the warehouse-store and shop.
Bijó Elelmiszer Kereskedelmi, set up in August 2013, plans to open another retail shop in the city of Debrecen in April and 14-19 more shops throughout Hungary by the end of 2014.
The first shops will be under private ownership, though the company plans to establish a franchise system to operate shops over the longer term.
Bijó could reach turnover of up to HUF 5 billion in two to three years, Dóra Kenéz, investment director of Help2StartUp said, putting the respective Hungarian market at HUF 30 billion a year.
