Body Shop to open first shop in Hungary

History

British cosmetics franchise Body Shop will open its first shop in Hungary in 2009.

Body Shop's PR Manager for Europe and the Near East Andre Sand confirmed to the daily Világgazdaság that the company will expand to Hungary next year, though declined to provide the newspaper with further details.

Body Shop currently operates shops 55 countries, including Romania in Poland within the central and eastern European region, the newspaper reported.

The paper wrote that press reports indicate that US beauty-products chain Sephora is also planning to open shops in Hungary, though the company did not respond to the newspaper's request for confirmation of this news.

Sephora currently operates 23 shops in the central and eastern European region, including 19 in Poland, and two each in the Czech Republic and Romania. (MTI-Econews)
