Tobacco concession winners in no hurry to get retail licences

The winners of some 5,400 concessions in a new state monopoly on retail tobacco sales appear to be in no rush to apply for trade licences, business daily Világgazdaság said on Wednesday. Just 671 applications for trade licences from the concession winners arrived at the National Tax and Customs Authority (NAV) by Tuesday, the paper said. NAV has 30 day to process the applications from the time they are submitted. The monopoly on tobacco sales comes into force on July 1, 2013.
