Tender called for arena maintenance

State-owned Rendezvénycsarnok Rt, the legal owner of Budapest's landmark Papp László Sport Arena, has called a tender for the maintenance of the stadium for a 20-year period, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported. The announcement comes nearly 6 months after the previous operator, Arena Rt, handed back operating rights to the Hungarian state. Arena, which was set up jointly by French companies Bouygues, the constructor, and , agreed with the state to end its 20-year operating contract three years ago after it failed to turn maintenance into a profitable business. Bidders have until Jan. 6 to file offers.
