Hungarian taxi firm Tele5 has linked its entire fleet to the Vodafone ReadyPay service, which will be available in its 110 taxis around Hungary.

The service, which is run by the Hungarian subsidiary of telco giant Vodafone, enables passengers to pay by bank card when traveling with Tele5 Taxi.

“We were really happy when Vodafone offered us to join ReadyPay,” Tele5 CEO Marcell Pásztor said, adding that he believes joining Vodafone’s system is the only option for mobile card acceptance in Hungary for companies with low traffic.

“ReadyPay in Hungary is unique as it offers instant solutions for Hungarian SMEs that are planning to introduce electronic payment systems,” said István Király, Director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone Hungary.
