Sziget, Telekom VOLT festivals receive international recognition

Sziget and Telekom VOLT Festival, both organized by Hungary’s Sziget Cultural Management firm, received awards at last nightʼs European Festival Awards held in Groningen, Netherlands, according to a press release issued today.
Sziget received the award for Best European Line-Up, while Telekom VOLT was awarded the Best Medium-Sized Festival in Europe. Sziget Cultural Management considers both awards a “huge success”.
Held every August since 1993, Sziget, or the Island of Freedom, attracts more than 400,000 festival goers every year, the announcement said.
In addition to the noteworthy successes of Sziget, this is the first year Telekom VOLT Festival has received an international award, according to the press release. The festival is held at beginning of July and attracts approximately 110,000 festival goers every year.
