Skyscanner buys Hungarian mobile app firm Distinction

British passenger flight, hotel and car hire search engine Skyscanner announced the purchase of Hungarian mobile applications startup Distinction, British news company BBC reported on its news website today.
Skyscanner speculates that the acquisition would help "fast-track growth of its in-house mobile team". Distinction's Budapest office will become Skyscanner's main mobile hub, while retaining the existing team of 30 employees with plans for further expansion.
Skyscanner worked closely with Distinction to design and build its hotel app which was launched in August of this year. Distinction Kft. had revenues of HUF 263 mln last year.
Distinction has a portfolio of developing applications for Red Bull, Skyscanner, Microsoft and Audi, and reaches millions of users every day across the world with its mobile applications developed in house.
