Satyam BPO unit set to come to Hungary
Nipuna Services, the business process outsourcing (BPO) arm of Indian software company Satyam, is poised to set up shop in Hungary, India's Times News Network reported on Monday.
”Nipuna is actively looking to service its international clients out of Hungary. Our parent company Satyam Computers already has a 90-member team operating in Budapest and we intend working closely with Satyam Computers as part of our global go-to-markets strategy, wherein Nipuna's sales/BPO experts work alongside Satyam's overseas software professionals and pitch for international client projects on location,” said Nipuna CEO Venkatesh Roddam, confirming the development.
”Another reason why Nipuna's looking to enter Hungary is in light of the massive multi-lingual BPO expertise that is available across eastern Europe. Some of our biggest clients prefer BPO vendors with diverse multi-lingual skills across verticals,” he added.
Some of Nipuna's largest clients include BellSouth, Merrill Lynch, Bear Sterns and Co, Caterpillar Corp and Glaxo-SmithKline.
Satyam signed a cooperation agreement with MTA SZTAKI, the IT institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, in November 2005. Satyam and the institute will work together in emerging technology areas such as grid computing and data mining. Satyam will also market MTA SZTAKI's products and assist it to develop technological platforms.
