Report: Tender closes before deadline on overwhelming demand

A tender for HUF 65 bln in European Union funding for production capacity expansions, which had originally been planned to be open for two years, was closed two month after its launch following overwhelming demand, Hungarian business daily Világgazdaság reported today.
Prior to launching the tender, the National Economy Ministry expected approximately 250-500 applications to be submitted for the funding, however, 858 applications were received in just a few weeks, requesting almost HUF 140 bln in grant money.
Hungaryʼs government is calling tenders for all funding available during the 2014-2020 EU budget period by the middle of 2017, Hungarian news agency MTI reported.
