An application used by OTP Bank to avail of an early repayment scheme for foreign currency-denominated mortgages is one of the applications financial market watchdog PSZAF is scrutinizing, PSZAF spokesman István Binder told MTI.

In the OTP Bank application, published on a blog on Friday, clients are prohibited from repaying their forex mortgages early by using loans from another bank.

OTP Bank told MTI the prohibition clause is included in all of its lending contracts.

The government scheme allows early repayment of foreign currency-denominated mortgages in full at a discounted exchange rate.
