Oracle Hungary software sales up 150% in 2005/2006 business year
The Hungarian unit of US business software giant Oracle saw its business management software sales increased 150% in the business year ended May 31, far more than the less than 10% growth of the market as a whole, the unit's managing director Péter Füzes announced on Tuesday.
The Hungarian unit employs 160. Oracle controlled a 15% share of Hungary's business applications market at the end of May, but it had a 60% share of the database software market and a 30% share of the market for middleware, the software that lies between the operating system and the applications on each side of a distributed system.
Sales through Oracle's 200 Hungarian partners rose 25% in volume terms in the last business year, and license sales increased 30%. In value terms, more than half of Oracle Hungary's software sales are made through its partners.
Füzes said the unit expects sales to continue to show double-digit growth in the 2006/2007 business year.
