Gov’t to lease 200,000 hectares of state-owned land
Hungary's government will call a tender for the lease of more than 200,000 hectares of state-owned land by small, family-owned farms, daily Magyar Hírlap said on Wednesday, without naming any sources. The Rural Development Ministry expects about 2,000 farmers to lease the land, according to the paper. Hungary's National Land Management Fund Organization (NFA) earlier called tenders for the lease of more than 40,000 hectares of state-owned farm land with the aim of supporting small, family-owned farms.
