E.ON named one of Europe’s best employers

“This is an excellent result. It shows that we are in the „Champions League” of attractive employers in Europe”, said Christoph Dänzer-Vanotti, Chief Human Resources Officer of E.ON AG. “Particularly in the energy industry it is becoming more and more important to attract the most qualified and talented employees. The quality of our workforce is what makes us competitive. This is why we are constantly honing our HR and management systems to remain an attractive employer for the best and brightest people in the energy industry. This year was the first time that E.ON entered the competition with its German lead companies (E.ON AG, E.ON Ruhrgas AG, and E.ON Energie AG).

E.ON Ruhrgas had already participated in previous years, and did extremely well. The results of the „Best Workplaces in Europe 2008” competition are derived from the national competitions in 15 European countries, which each year attract more than 1,000 entries. As part of the survey, a large group of randomly selected employees were asked a range of questions relating to subjects such as credibility, respect, fairness, pride and team orientation.

The survey was, of course, anonymous. In addition, the HR and leadership tools were certified. Earlier this year, E.ON already received a special award in the “Deutschlands Beste Arbeitgeber 2008” competition for its exemplary preventive healthcare program. It was presented in February by the Great Place to Work Institute Deutschland and the business magazine Capital. In the overall ranking of the German employers, E.ON was among the Top 20 most popular employers. (Oilvoice)
