Deputy PM: Hungary to “crack down” on anti-Semitism [video]

The Conference on Jewish Life and anti-Semitism in Contemporary Europe currently being hosted in Budapest has garnered many speakers and presenters some international media attention, but few won as many headlines as Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics, who promised yesterday to help “crack down” on anti-Semitism in Hungary.
“We cannot allow anti-Semitism to gain strength in Hungary, especially knowing our own responsibility,” said Navracsics in part.
“We know Hungarians were responsible for the Holocaust. Hungarians were perpetrators and victims.
“We have learned from the past. We know what happened and we will not allow it to happen again this democracy will defend itself against anyone who wants to incite hatred.”
