Budapest Airport wins Eventiada award

The joint work of Budapest Airport and the PR division of Lounge Group was rewarded with a prize in international reputation management at the 2020 Eventiada IPRA Golden World Awards, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
The Eventiada IPRA Golden World Awards an international PR competition in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Several hundred entries were submitted from a total of 14 countries this year.
The work of Budapest Airport and the PR division of the Lounge Group during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic was declared the overall winner in the Best Reputation Management category.
Katalin Valentínyi, chief corporate communications and government relations officer for Budapest Airport Zrt. said, "The coronavirus pandemic presented us with a huge challenge in communications as well. We switched to crisis communication mode already in February, when the pandemic appeared in Europe, and this effectively remained the case throughout 2020."
"We had to solve situations that no airport had previously been confronted with. Informing the public quickly, precisely, and continuously required serious preparations and harmonized teamwork during these critical months. We are very proud of this award, and especially of the fact that we were able to strengthen our reputation during this crisis," she noted.
Péter Mamusits, the managing director of Lounge Communication highlighted, "Being part of the bustling everyday life of an international airport required a great deal of professionalism and flexibility on the agency side. The first wave of the coronavirus pandemic was anyhow a special challenge from a reputation management perspective, especially in view of the fact that millions had their eyes on Hungary’s largest international airport on a daily basis during this turbulent period."
"However, our team of dedicated communications experts managed to overcome even the most difficult obstacles. We are very proud that the international jury rewarded our work, done shoulder to shoulder with Budapest Airport, with such a prestigious accolade," he added.
